One Star Diver / Open Water Diver course

The One Star Diver course is your first step in becoming a SCUBA diver. No previous experience in necessary.
Course Prerequisites:
• At least 12 years old (parent permission for minors under the age of 18)
•Complete a very basic swimming test
• Fill in a medical questionnaire stating good health, or take a medical examination by a diving doctor if necessary
About the Course:
The course can be completed in 5 days. Each day (5-7 hours) includes up to 2 practical sessions in the water, and one theoretical session in class.
In the practical part of the course you will learn to operate the SCUBA gear and practice diving skills such as correct breathing, movement underwater, buoyancy control, handling malfunctions etc. The practical part comprises confined water sessions which take place in a pool or a pool like environment, and open water sessions which take place in the sea. You will complete 6 open water dives in the sea, one of them to a depth of 20 meters. In the theoretical part of the course you will learn about the physical and mechanical processes that are involved in diving, and how to adapt to the underwater environment. You will learn about the new environment, the physiology of diving, diving rules and regulations, common diving risks, how to plan a dive, etc. At the end of the course you will be required to pass an exam for certification.

As a certified One Star Diver you can dive to a maximum depth of 20 meters accompanied by a certified Two Star Diver / Advanced Open Water Diver or above.
